Since their formation in 1988, Stockholm Chamber Brass have led the way in brass chamber music. Also renowned for being some of the leading brass pedagogues in Europe, the group decided to establish their own academy in 2016.

 

Set in the inspiring environment of Leksand, in the heart of Sweden, the Stockholm Chamber Brass Academy is a unique course for both performers looking to hone their chamber music playing, and for composers wanting to gain a greater insight in how to write for brass. 

 

Performers can apply as an existing group or as individuals, who SCB will form into ensembles. Applicants will receive chamber music coaching, individual masterclasses, workshops, concert opportunities and a brand new piece composed specifically for them!

 

Composers will have the opportunity to study with leading composer and trombonist Ivo Nilsson during the spring, before being paired with one of the Academy ensembles to create a new piece that will be performed at the end of the course.

 

The 2023 course will take place from the 29th July - 6th August (arriving on 29th July, and departing FROM STOCKHOLM on the evening of the 6th August).
