When five outstanding brass players from Stockholm embark on a musical journey, a sonic cosmos full of movement, color, and surprises unfolds. This summer at the SHMF, the ensemble "Stockholm Chamber Brass" brings music to life with virtuosic agility – in the mind, in the heart, and sometimes even in the foot! From Monteverdi's baroque elegance to Stravinsky's shimmering dances, from Piazzolla's passionate tango to Bernstein's jazzy rhythms, a panorama of musical movement unfolds. The works come from diverse eras, cultures, and continents – each sound a step, each chord a sweep, until the music itself becomes a pulsating dance. With the poetic musical language of Swedish composer Andrea Tarrodi, the ensemble also forges a link to the Nordic magic of the present day. An evening full of drive, charm, elegance, and radiant, warm brass sounds.
